BARELY LEGAL: Mix features non-annoying La Roux tune

SMASH hit new kids on the block Barely Legal have put together their first mixtape, which you can download now to your generic personal music player of choice.

The night – run by Steven McInerney and James Taylor – launched at the beginning of October and has been a runaway success since then, thanks in no small part to a fantastic indiepop electro playlist, positive word of mouth and the services of a very polite young man on the cash desk.

Their first mix offers a snapshot of the sort of tunes that have been packing them in downstairs at Joshua Brooks and is good for three reasons:

:: It features brilliant new tunes from La Roux, the Maccabees and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
:: It’s just over 40 minutes long so there’s no boring middle bit.
:: The MP3 comes with artwork so it doesn’t look rubbish in iTunes.

Amazing. You can download the mix now by clicking the link on the right.

Barely Legal is on this Friday at Joshua Brooks, Princess Street. 10pm-3.30am. £3 before 11/£5 after.
