Hallé Fireworks & Light Spectacular, Tatton Park - July 31, 2010.

With numerous TV presenting jobs under her belt, a successful high-street children’s fashion range, and stunning appearances on those M&S ads, you’d be forgiven for forgetting that Myleene Klass initially found fame as a talented musician.

Although she began her career in Hear’Say, a pop band created by ITV’s reality show Popstars, her real musical talent and passion lies in classical music.

She will be combining her presenting talent and her enthusiasm for classical music when she comes to Tatton Park to host the annual Hallé Fireworks & Light Spectacular at the end of the month.

Myleene will be guiding the audience through the evening of classical music performed by the Hallé Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell, with special appearances from soprano Natasha Marsh and tenor Wynne Evans, who ‘stars’ on the Go Compare TV adverts.

It is the 19th time the event has been a part of the Tatton Park Picnic concerts. Myleene has seen the Hallé before and is a big fan. “They are absolutely phenomenal. Stephen Bell is a genius and the repertoire is amazing.” she says.

She is excited about presenting the event, which she describes as being “totally up her street”, and says the evening will be enjoyable for everyone, even if the weather lets us down.

“I have been to events like this before when the rain starts, but the brollies come out and it doesn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.”

And don’t be put off if classical music isn’t usually your scene, Myleene assures us that there will be something for everyone.

“Even for those who might be intimidated by classical music, there are pieces that are well known and will be familiar.”

Myleene certainly knows her stuff when it comes to classical music. The 32-year-old beauty can not only sing, she also plays the piano, violin and harp. Her album, Moving On, reached No2 in the Classical charts in 2003.

So while she is presenting the event, won’t she be itching to perform? “Well I get to perform a lot so what’s great about presenting is that I will get to dip into the audience between parts and go and see the family.”

The Hallé Fireworks and Light Spectacular has been attracting families to the evening of music, fun and fireworks for years and 2010’s hostess is making sure her own family doesn’t miss out.

“I’ll be bringing my mum and dad and little one, Ava. We’re like a travelling circus,” she laughs.

“I always bring them to these things. They pack a picnic and mum brings the blanket and we do the traditional English thing of going to the supermarket for strawberries. My mum makes amazing fried rice and packs that up so everyone heads for her blanket, even my tour manager.”

After a day enjoying the picnic, the audience of 10,000 people will be treated to an evening of unique music that will feature standards including O Mio Babbino Caro, Rusalka’s Song To The Moon, the love duet from Madam Butterfly, and Nessun Dorma.

The night will end with a bang as the theatrical firework finale will fill the sky set to dramatic operatic music, such as Ride Of The Valkyries and Wagner’s The Ring, a highlight that Myleene thinks Ava, two, will enjoy.

“My little one will absolutely love the fireworks. I hope she can stay awake for them. I will give her an extra nap to make sure.

“But, of course, the live music is so important too. When you are watching a live orchestra there is so much to see, even for my daughter. She can see everything, the violin bows moving up and down, and you can feel the vibrations when you’re there. You can feel them, moving through the ground. Listening on your iPod just doesn’t compare.”

Tickets are £29.30 from tattonparkconcerts.com or call 0844 847 1554.
